Question 1

What plan should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Start on Free Sip — 10 PDF study packs and 10 practice tests a month, plus the YouTube summarizer, is enough for one subject. Half Pie (£12/month) raises that to 100 packs and 100 tests, unlocks every study tool and both PDF themes. Whole Pie (£22/month) is unlimited generation with the AI paper marker, Anki export and a revision planner.

Question 2

Is there a free plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Free Sip is free forever: 10 PDF study pack generations and 10 practice tests every month, unlimited flashcards from those packs, 30 AI tutor messages and the YouTube Video Summarizer. No card required.

Question 3

Is there a free trial on paid plans?

Accepted Answer

Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial of the full feature set. You are not charged until the trial ends and you can cancel at any point during it.

Question 4

Do I need to be at a particular school or university?

Accepted Answer

No. StudyPie works from whatever material you have — GCSE, A-level, IB, BTEC, undergraduate or self-study.

Question 5

I want to ask something else…

Accepted Answer

Email hello@studypie.co.uk or use the contact page. A real person answers, Monday to Friday, within one to two UK business days.

Question 6

What counts as one PDF generation?

Accepted Answer

One generation is one source turned into a finished study pack — a set of notes, a chapter, a lecture transcript or a PDF. Everything in that pack (chapters, key concepts, worked examples, formulas, exam tips, glossary, flashcards and recall questions) plus its PDF download is included. Editing and re-downloading a pack you already made never costs another generation.

Question 7

Which study tools are free?

Accepted Answer

The YouTube Video Summarizer is included on Free Sip. The TikTok summarizer, AI PDF Summarizer, Audio to Study Notes and Video to Text Converter unlock on Half Pie, and the AI Paper Marker is a Whole Pie feature.

Question 8

What files can I import?

Accepted Answer

Pasted text, PDFs, Word documents, Markdown and plain text, audio recordings for the audio tool, plus YouTube and TikTok links via the summarizers. Longer sources are supported on Whole Pie, up to 60,000 characters.

Question 9

How accurate is the AI?

Accepted Answer

StudyPie works only from the source you provide. A planning pass maps every concept in your notes, then an expansion pass writes each chapter and a coverage check makes sure nothing was dropped. The tutor cites the pack it is answering from so you can check the original wording.

Question 10

Can I edit the generated pack before exporting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On paid plans the pack workspace has an inline editor: rewrite any section by hand, reorder chapters, or ask the AI to shorten, expand, simplify or make a section exam-focused — with a live PDF preview beside it.

Question 11

How do practice tests choose questions?

Accepted Answer

Questions are generated from the pack or notes you select, then difficulty adapts to your confidence ratings and score as you go. Feedback quotes the exact line from your material, and missed questions can be turned into flashcards in one click.

Question 12

What exactly is in a generated study pack?

Accepted Answer

Chapters written from your source, key concepts, worked examples, formulas where relevant, exam tips, a glossary, recall questions and a flashcard deck — all downloadable as a clean PDF, and also as Word, PowerPoint, Markdown or plain text.

Question 13

Where do flashcards come from?

Accepted Answer

Every study pack generates a paper-style deck automatically, and you can also generate a standalone deck for a subject. Cards flip front/back and you self-rate your recall so weaker cards come back more often.

Question 14

What can I build a practice test from?

Accepted Answer

A single pack, several packs combined, a flashcard deck, or notes you upload or paste at the time. You choose exam level (KS3, KS4/GCSE, A-level or undergraduate), difficulty, question count and question types.

Question 15

What happens after a test?

Accepted Answer

You get a results screen with your score, a per-topic breakdown and every question you missed — with the exact line from your material quoted, an “explain simply” follow-up, and a one-click button to turn misses into flashcards.

Question 16

Can I export decks to Anki?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Decks export as an Anki-compatible CSV or as a printable PDF. Anki export is a Whole Pie feature.

Question 17

How does the AI tutor stay accurate?

Accepted Answer

Attach a study pack and the tutor answers from that document, quoting the passage it used. Without a pack it still answers study questions, but the citation view is what stops it inventing facts about your own material.

Question 18

Which tools are in the app right now?

Accepted Answer

YouTube Video Summarizer, TikTok Video Summarizer, AI PDF Summarizer, Audio to Study Notes, Video to Text Converter and the AI Paper Marker.

Question 19

What does the AI Paper Marker do?

Accepted Answer

You paste or upload a written answer and it marks it like an examiner: per-question marks, highlighted mistakes with corrections, and an overall report with the main patterns to fix. It is included on Whole Pie.

Question 20

Do the video tools need captions?

Accepted Answer

They work from the video's transcript. If a YouTube or TikTok video has no usable transcript, the tool tells you rather than guessing — for those, use Audio to Study Notes or the Video to Text Converter instead.

Question 21

How is my progress tracked?

Accepted Answer

Study stats shows a consistency heatmap, your current streak, session history and per-subject activity. You also earn XP for sessions, packs and cards mastered, and unlock achievement badges as you go.

Question 22

Can I use StudyPie on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It runs in the browser on phone, tablet and desktop with the same account and library — nothing to install.

Question 23

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

Email and password, or one-tap Google sign-in. You can change your name, avatar, study targets and notification preferences in Settings.

Question 24

What happens if I run out of generations?

Accepted Answer

Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. New generation pauses until your monthly reset while everything you have already made — packs, PDFs, flashcards and tests — stays fully available. Upgrade at any time for an instant increase, or wait for the reset.

Question 25

How much are the paid plans?

Accepted Answer

Half Pie is £12 a month and Whole Pie is £22 a month, both billed monthly with a 14-day free trial. No contracts, and you can cancel any time.

Question 26

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Any time, from Billing in your account. Upgrades apply immediately and downgrades take effect at the end of the current period. There are no contracts or cancellation fees.

Question 27

Which currencies and payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Prices are shown in GBP and we accept all major debit and credit cards. VAT is added where applicable and shown before you confirm.

Question 28

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

If something is not right, email us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund the current period. UK consumer cancellation rights apply to your first subscription payment.

Question 29

Is my data private?

Accepted Answer

Your notes are stored per account, are never used to train models, and are permanently removed when you delete a pack or close your account.

Question 30

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

Your account and study material are stored with our cloud infrastructure providers on servers inside the UK/EU, with encryption in transit and at rest.

Question 31

Can I delete my account and everything in it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Deleting your account from Settings removes your packs, decks, tests and chat history permanently. We keep only the billing records UK law requires us to retain.

Question 32

Who can see my study packs?

Accepted Answer

Only you. Packs are private to your account by default and nothing is shared publicly unless you export it yourself.
